Get started syncing Google Workspace data

Users in your organization might need to keep email, calendar, and contact data synchronized while they transition to Google Workspace. There are multiple sync options available depending on your users' device and source environment.


Mobile

Android

Data that's synced

  • Contacts, including the Global Address List (GAL) for Google Workspace users

For Google Workspace users:

  1. Set up Google Workspace on an Android device.
  2. Then use apps provided by Google to sync with your account.

For all other users:

iOS

  2. Then use apps provided by Google to sync with your account. Consult the App Store to find apps developed by Google.

Important: Different email clients use IMAP in different ways. Some clients might exceed Gmail bandwidth limits. If you frequently reach the IMAP bandwidth or simultaneous connection limits with one IMAP email client, try switching to another IMAP client, such as Mozilla Thunderbird.
